Born in a Barn
Dansko's story began in 1990, when founder Mandy Cabot discovered a remarkably comfortable Danish clog during a trip to Denmark to buy a horse. After experiencing the comfort of the clog during long days of barn chores and errands, she saw an opportunity to bring that distinctive footwear to America.
What began with a Danish clog grew into a footwear company known for comfort, distinctive style and supportive footwear.

For more than 30 years, Dansko has continued to build on the principles behind that original clog. Our footwear combines distinctive design with comfort-focused construction to create shoes for work, everyday adventures and everything in between.
From classic clogs and boots to sneakers, flats, Mary Janes and sandals, Dansko creates footwear designed to fit different lifestyles while staying true to our commitment to comfort.

Dansko is a women-founded and women-led company. In 2012, the company became 100% employee-owned through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), giving the people who helped build Dansko an ownership stake in its future.
